On Thursday 5 July, we hosted a special event at Westminster Abbey for NHS staff, volunteers and partners to mark the NHS’s 70th birthday.
The full programme, which includes a message from the Prime Minister, is available to download via the Abbey’s website.
There were also three powerful testimonials, which you can read in full:
- Olive Belfield – a former nurse and member of the NHS Retirement Fellowship
- Freya Lewis – a patient who survived the 2017 Manchester terror attack (who was supported by her nurse, Jenny Grant)
- Martin Griffiths – a consultant vascular/trauma surgeon, Barts Health NHS Trust.
Simon Stevens, Chief Executive, NHS England also gave an address, which you can listen to on the Abbey’s website.
